Honeymoon 2

Well we made it one year! Alan and I have been married for over a year now. We spent our anniversary at Stein Ericksen's again and it was wonderful! The first night we went out to eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant Baja Cantina in Park City and it was fantastic as usual. We went to Redbox and got the movie 2012 and watched it on the huge couch we had in our room, it was a weird movie. Then we went hot tubing on our balcony. It was perfect weather to go hot tubing nice and cool outside which makes the hot tub so much more fun! The next day Alan taught me how to play chess, I am not very good at it because I cannot think that far ahead. We ate lunch at the restaurant in the hotel, after that we were stuffed. As we were walking back to our room we decided to go explore and we found a workout room. Alan and I have been training for the second annual Boyce Ator Triathlon and decided to go workout for an hour or two. It was awesome because we were the only ones there and each machine had its own tv that you could watch we also had iced towels for when we were done. After that we went swimming in the heated pool while it was snowing, that was awesome. After that I went and got ready for dinner and Alan went to get gas in the car and to return the redbox. Dinner was fantastic! I got the quail and pork, Alan got crab and steak and for desert chocolate gelatto. Oh being married is the BEST! I am so freakin happy I have Alan in my life! I cannot believe one year has come and gone so quickly, next thing I know we will have kids, but that won't be happening for a little bit longer. Having our anniversary was a good way to start the summer!

Winter Fun

This winter was quite eventful. Alan and I finished our Fall semesters at BYU and UVU. We finally moved out of grandma Duncan's basement and bought a townhouse in Provo close by Utah lake. We love it here, commuting from work back home isn't very fun but we make it work. We both work at Directv I am customer support and Alan was promoted a supervisor and he is really enjoying it.
We went up to temple square this winter, Alan's hair is so long! I let him grow his hair out for a little while. It is now cut cute and short.

For Christmas James and Alyson got Alan and me tickets to a Jazz game against the Heat. It was the first professional sporting event I had ever been to. It was really fun, Boozer yells a lot.
As you can see we had totally awesome seats. We have now begun our next semesters we are hoping to finish within the next two years. Alan is going into Business Marketing and hoping to get into Sports marketing, as for me I changed my major to Family and Consumer Science Education, in essence I want to be a Home Ec. teacher for high school students. We are so excited in May it will be a year since we got married and we are going to celebrate at Stein Eriksen's again. We cannot believe how quickly this first year has gone by, we have been so blessed by the Lord and we are eternally grateful!

HALLOWEEN TIME

Halloween is such a fun time for me and Alan. Our first date was going to Nightmare on 13th two weeks before Halloween. It is Alan's favorite holiday, so we have been trying to spend it his way by going to Haunted houses and watching scary movies this whole month.
We also have gone to a few Halloween parties. We decided to be two things this year because we couldn't decide between the two. One is Phineas and Ferb from Disney Channel and the other is Luke and Lorelai from Gilmore Girls(He sure does love me).
On the special day, Halloween, we have decided to carve pumpkins and go to as many parties as we can. This is going to be one fun holiday! I wish you all a very scary, safe, and happy Halloween!

California Vacation

For our first official vacation with each other as a married couple we went to our favorite places, Knots Berry Farm(that is Alan's favorite) Disneyland and the beach(Kim's favorite). We stayed at Alan's aunt Stephanie's house in Long Beach which was really nice of her, then each day we set out on our adventures!
It was Alan's birthday the day we went to Disneyland and he got in free! It was awesome! Everyone who worked at Disneyland was saying "Happy Birthday Alan". He got sick of it and took the pin off in the middle of the day.
The first person we saw was the one and only Mickey Mouse!
Holy cow I went on this thing three times!! This is the Supreme Scream at Knots Berry Farm. This was the first time I had ever been there it was way fun even though I got sick on the first ride. This was really big rides!
Alan had never been to California Adventure before and I knew he would love it because he loves big rides. It kind of stinks that there is no 'K' in California!
We met up with some pretty awesome characters.
I absolutely love this picture because he looks just like my dad when we would go to Disneyland with his yellow fanny pack.
In the background is Hollywood Tower of Terror, which Alan loved! I was so excited to go to Disneyland because the last time I went was when they had the Pirates 3 premiere and it was almost three years!! We had so much fun and hope to go back soon.

Stein Eriksen Honeymoon

I am finally updating my blog. I have a lot to update on. For our honeymoon we went up to Park City and stayed at Stein Eriksens Lodge. It is a world class hotel, we knew this because there were magazines everywhere telling us it was. Plus you know in the movie Ocean's 13 where the hotel owner wants the 5 Diamond award, well there were two of those awards in Stein Eriksen. As you can tell I was highly impressed. As we entered our lovely room there was a chair from a chairlift. This is just typical Alan reading the paper in the morning.
The bathroom was sweet! We had our own walk in shower and Jacuzzi tub. Oh and the robes they had were awesome, we were very tempted to steal them.
This was our room, we had a fireplace and a flat screen plasma TV. They also left us our very own box of chocolates. At first we weren't sure what the chocolates were, they looked like rocks till I took a bite out of one.
Alan and I at the entrance of Stein Eriksen
We got a complimentary dinner one night at the famous restaurant, it is so famous that I totally forgot the name. Anyway we could get whatever we wanted. We decided to go a little crazy and get the stuff we have never had before. Alan got duck and those squares in the corner is potatoes.
This is my appetizer, I got the quail. It was fantastic! I think quail is my favorite now. My dinner I had lobster with asparagus, drizzled with a light cheese. It was really small portions but way good!

This was our King sized bed which now I greatly miss.
Here is Alan's wedding band. He picked it out himself.
We had a deck with an amazing view of the mountain side.
I love art so Alan took me to main street in Park City and we went to the art galleries there. There was one that was incredible. The paintings looked so realistic even Alan was impressed.
The famous Legers. The first time I ate here was during Thanksgiving with Alan and his family, we decided to go back for lunch one day. The best hogi sandwiches I have ever had.
Alan and I ordering at Legers
We decided one night to have a bubble bath because I love late night baths. There was no bubble bath in our room so we used the shampoo. Alan used the whole bottle and over half of the tub was bubbles, we were laughing forever. It was the best BUBBLE bath I have ever had!!

Our Wedding Day

It finally happened!! Alan and I are married, it is about time! It was one crazy day. We started out with the wedding breakfast at Marie Calendars in Draper with close family and friends and then Alan and I headed to the new Draper Temple where we were sealed for all time and eternity. I have to say that the place to get married is in the temple of the Lord. It was the most special moment in my life.

All of Alan's family in front of the temple
All of my family in front of the temple
I love this picture because of Alan's dimple. Julie, Alan's sister-in-law did all of our pictures and she did such an amazing job!

I honestly did not know that I could bend that way!

The reception was in Orem in a church. It was so beautiful! I'll have to put some of those pictures up too.

Easter with the Sheffers

At the Sheffer home they have what is called an egg derby where they color eggs and then have a competition to see whose egg can spin the longest on its end. I never won but it was really fun. These were my eggs that were in the derby. BYU on one side and Mountain View on the other and on the other egg A+K on one side and =heart on the other side. They were super cute!
We made other eggs too. I made a turtle one and a beach one. Alan made a Philadelphia Eagles helmet and a bullet faced man egg. They were way awesome! I was quite pleased with my ability to draw on a hard boiled egg.
Alan and I had an Easter egg hunt on Easter morning. I hid about 10 eggs for Alan to find then he hid some for me. We did this at his house. It was a lot of fun. I hadn't done an Easter egg hunt for a long time. Alan always seems to bring out the little kid in me.
In the process of Alan trying to find his eggs he found another little treasure, a little Daffy Duck that must have been buried for awhile in his garden.
