The New Addition

Well our sweet little boy came 13 days early and it was a good thing because he was not so little, he was 8 lbs 13 oz and was 20 in long. It was a really good delivery I only had to push twice and my recovery was very quick. I went into labor at about 6pm on the 25th of June (while cleaning the office that Alan works for) and we went to the hospital about 2 hours later. I was admitted pretty quick because I was already dilated to a four and my contractions were getting a lot worse. I got my epidural and felt wonderful I had not felt that relaxed in months. My contractions began to slow down so they had to give me some medicine to help me along. My doctor came and broke my water, but a few hours later they had to put water back in me because it was getting too tight for the baby. I was 100% efaced and dilated to a 9 and my doctor let me rest and relax a little long, which was wonderful then he came and in two pushes our baby was here born at 7:42 AM on June 26th.
We decided about a month ago that Alan got the make the final decision on his name and he said he will pick between William or Blake when he holds him, he chose William. His full name is William Draper Sheffer
Lizzy was instantly in love with her baby brother, all she does is hug and kiss him constantly. She has to introduce him to everyone too.

We stayed in the hospital for a little less than 48 hours, I was very ready to head home.

She loves him so much, every morning after she wakes up she has to come in and check on William and give her daily hugs and kisses.

2013 Wasatch Back (Ragnar)

My awesome and talented husband participated in the Park City Ragnar with some of the people he works with. He had the hardest legs of anyone and he did fantastic, I was so proud of him. His first leg was 3.2 miles, his second was 11.6 in the middle of the night on a dirt trail, and his last leg was 4.4 miles completely uphill the entire way. He accomplished his goals by completing all but the last leg under the time he wanted, he was 4 minutes shy on his last leg.
The Lifestyle Crafts team after they all crossed the finish line together. They rocked it!!!

Lizzy was so proud of her daddy, she was cheering and clapping while he ran through the finish line.

Lizzy checking out Alan's medal, about 1 hour later she accidentally broke it but we are going to get a new one.

After the race we went to our favorite restaurant in Park City, Baja Cantina for Alan's victory meal

Alan crossing the finish line, both his feet were in pretty bad shape but he managed to run all the way to the end!

Alan said if he does this again he will plan better when it comes to sleeping, he only got 3 hours and 20 minutes of sleep in 36 hours. When we got home he crashed and I gave him a good long foot massage. He really enjoyed doing it and he will probably do it again.

One More Month

Well we have about one month left before our little boy joins our family. We are both excited and nervous. We have Lizzy on some really good routines and we hope they will stick with the new addition in the home. This has been a much different pregnancy, my body is feeling the aches and pains so much more. I have back pain, hip pain, leg pains, I am exhausted all the time and I have been having really bad sinus issues for almost a month now that makes me cough and sneeze a ton. My hands and feet are swelling to the point where they hurt pretty bad, but my doctor says it is nothing to worry about until the swelling does not go away. On a good note my sweet little boy keeps moving around and has stopped hurting me so much when he moves, now it is just fun to watch my belly move around. Besides all the bad things that is going on with my body we are excited to meet our little boy!
This picture is when Alan and I were celebrating our anniversary at Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City. Alan surprised me with a spa treatment, it was wonderful. We had such a relaxing time there and for once I did not over eat. Now that Alan and I are both college graduates we have more time to relax and enjoy each other and our little family.

Tomorrow our little girl turns two, I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone. She is the best thing that has happened to Alan and I. Some things about our little sweetheart

Favorite Movie- Wreck it Ralph
Favorite color- Blue (probably because it is the only one she can say)
Favorite toy - Her princess purse and toy cell phone
Favorite book- Green eggs and Ham
Favorite thing to do- PLAY (meaning playground)
Favorite thing to eat - Mac and Cheese
Favorite treat - Otter pops

She loves her mommy and daddy so much, she tells us all the time! She is always copying Alan and if he is home she only wants to play with him, who can blame her he is so much fun!!

Three is Company and Four is a Crowd

We found out back in October that we are expecting another little one, I am due the first week of July. We are so excited for another sweet spirit to join our family. This pregnancy has been very different from the first, I was sick all day every day in my first trimester. I lost about 6 lbs and could not gain until just recently. I started feeling all the aches and pains much earlier and we found out on February 21st that we are having a BOY!! Alan and I were very very surprised, we both expected another girl. Alan was on cloud nine all day. We are going to name him William Draper Sheffer. William is a family name and Draper is because Alan and I got married in the Draper temple, we hope this name will be very special to him and he will be able to pass it down. I am getting close to the end of my second trimester, I am 22 weeks pregnant and feeling great. He moves around a lot and is much lower than what Lizzy was.
We have been training Lizzy about how to take care of babies. She does super good, she gets her baby doll and rocks it and sings to it. She makes sure to feed the baby and wraps a blanket around it. She is going to be the best big sister!! More updates will be coming. . .
